Cannot begin to describe how much I loved this place. In the greater NYC area, most sit - down restaurants like this have been replaced by walk in/take out joints that all have the same menu. Loved the ambience, the vibe, (All happy customers) the staff, the service and the food. Got an order of old - school Lemon Chicken, my nephew got Chicken Lo Mein, and because we'd been on the road a few days and eating junk, I ordered the Buddha's Delight so we could have some vegetables. This was the only dish I didn't love. Light on the Tofu & Veggies but. served with a huge clump of glass noodles. We did clean our plates and ate everything. The Warhol Museum? Who cares. Andy would want you to stop here, the last remaining vestige of Pittsburgh's Chinatown. A great example of a rapidly disappearing Chinese - American Restaurant. Eat here, leave happy!

We were on a girls weekend in Pittsburgh and decided to eat here last night. First impression walking in was they really need to clean the large fish tank. Not very pleasing to see a dirty, cloudy tank. Now on to the food. We ordered wonton soup with shrimp chips. They soup was good but they brought fried wonton pieces. We didn't think the waitress understood what we were asking for when asked for the shrimp chips. Maybe not a thing in Pittsburgh??? We then had a chicken egg roll. It was also good. We shared General Tso Chicken & Shrimp. The sauce was great, the chicken was great but skip the fried shrimp. It just didn't taste good in this dish. Overall, really good food and nice staff. If/when back in Pittsburgh we would go here again to eat.

Chinatown inn may honestly be my new favorite Chinese spot in Pittsburgh! I am so mad I've just now gone after hearing about it all these years! It is as good as they say. The ambiance takes me right back to every Chinese restaurant I loved that has now closed. I love everything from the decor to the food. The service was great and I cannot wait to come back!

LOVED for Christmas dinner when visiting Pitt! Would go again. Egg rolls were massive and food wasn't greasy at all.

It had been 20+years for me. But Chinatown Inn is still the place to hit for some outstanding dumplings whether steamed or fried.

First let me say it has been about 20 years since I've visited this restaurant. Today my visit was for take out. The staff was very kind and offered hot tea while I waited. My order was for chicken with broccoli, shrimp egg rolls, veggie egg rolls and veggie egg foo young. Every item was better than I remembered. Both of the sauces on each dish were rich and flavorful. Thr portions were a nice size as well. They also have plum sauce which many Chinese restaurants no longer offer. Overall, this was a good choice this evening, and I look forward to returning.

A year later, I update my review to say that this is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the city. Don't miss the egg rolls. They are amazing!

One of my favorite Chinese spots in the city! I recently found out they have a lunch menu and I was so excited! For $12, I got chicken lo mein, fried rice and wonton soup. I thought that was such a great deal with large portions! I usually get general Tso's or lo mein; they're my go-tos. Always have a great experience with pick up or delivery! Would definitely recommend.

This was a great lunch spot, downtown. We didn't make reservations, place was full but it was high noon. We had the speediest waitresses and fantastic satisfying food. We were in and seated in 1 minute, I didn't have time to ponder about the fish. Enjoy!
